The place in history

Skotoussa is a rural community in the municipality of Farsala, set among the fields and low foothills of southern Larissa. Nearby ancient Skotoussa was a fortified Thessalian city whose economy drew upon the surrounding grain country.

Agia Trias, formerly Soupli, belongs to the Skotoussa community. Skotoussa therefore provides an important administrative bridge between the ancestral village named in the Soupliotis surname and the wider records of Farsala and Larissa.
